Making America Hate Again

from John Kennedy: JFK and the Midlife Crisis by Popboomerang

/

about

Making America Hate Again is the very topical first single from the album: "In 1982 the airwaves were abuzz with a new western sound. Nothing Grows In Texas, Mexican Radio and JFK’s The Texan Thing were indie radio staples. Making America Hate Again is the sound of an imagined Sydney indie band from that period establishing themselves on the Southern Cross / Hopetoun / Trade Union scene. The song takes ’82’s ‘strum und twang’ and updates the themes of The Texan Thing, with the aim shifting from Reagan to Trump."
