Fresh from the US, Skipping GIrl Vinegar announce new single and film clip, “Making our Way” and Bluesfest Appearance!

Fresh from a highly successful U.S. showcase tour, indie darlings Skipping Girl Vinegar announce the release of their brand new single ‘Making Our Way’, complete with spectacular aerial film clip. Recorded in Nashville by indie legend Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Missy Higgins) during their recent U.S. tour, Skipping Girl Vinegar delivers a world-class indie anthem.

New single, ‘Making our Way’ lifts SGV’s signature hobo-pop sound to a new sun-soaked, anthemic level, drawing you towards boundless possibility and hope. The single is complemented beautifully by an inspiring, feel-good aerial film clip that tracks the journey of a hand-crafted paper crane from a small, Victorian coastal village to the rooftop of the band’s namesake, classic 1930’s neon sign, Audrey, the Skipping Girl Vinegar.

While in the U.S., SGV album ‘Keep Calm, Carry The Monkey’ was released throughout the country, spending 7 weeks in the Top 100 CMJ charts and climbing to #43, with multiple #1 and #2 positions across the U.S.

SGV’s U.S. tour started with a phone call from Midnight Oil’s Peter Garrett, wishing the band well and with the commitment to personally line up key U.S. industry people to come see them play – a promise he well and truly delivered on. From this point, it just kept coming…

SGV met legendary songstress Emmylou Harris, played poolside on EG Daily’s balcony in a Hollywood Hills mansion, ripped it up in New York City to music industry heavy hitters at the CMJ Festival; hung out in NY with Tim Wheeler from legendary Irish rock band Ash (who came out to see them play because he’s particularly tight with Baker, their space monkey and is a fan of SGV), played a show with Matt Schultz from Cage The Elephant, recorded two brand new singles in Nashville that the team are extremely excited about and returned with a swag of significant U.S. industry interest – including the announcement of the band signing to a major U.S. management company!

Skipping Girl Vinegar’s new single ‘Making Our Way’ is out across Australia on March 11th through Secret Fox and Popboomerang. To celebrate the release, SGV will join the stellar lineups at Bluesfest and Port Fairy 2013. More Australian launch dates to be announced soon.
