“The Go Betweens are an inspiration for Blackbirds FC and playing such a magnificent song live has always been a blast. The first time we rehearsed with Julien we tried Bye Bye Pride and he knew the bass line perfectly. I remember thinking “Fantastic, this is right bloke for us, our search for bass player is over”.
Once we’d finished recording the song I had a moment of doubt thinking that we’d done something almost sacrilegious but hopefully people can hear the joy and celebration in our version.”
