about

This track is a Michael Penn cover.

Tim Reid is a long-time Melbourne resident and accomplished songwriter. He has etched out his own sound over the years, writing and recording his music in various houses and studios around the world for the better part of the last 15 years. A strong believer in DIY when it comes to his music, Tim’s music has been described as 'personal' and 'warm' - a fitting description given that he plays most of the instruments and sings most of the parts.

Tim's musical lineage includes having a grandma who was a conservatorium taught opera singer and father and mother who dabbled in amateur theatre. He was inspired by an early encounter with his dad’s Beatles collection to pick up the guitar and teach himself the basics, persuading his parents to send him to piano lessons and was hooked. He later discovered songwriters like Michael Penn and Elliott Smith and knew that was what he wanted to be doing from then on.

Tim has released a number of records over the years, has collaborated with other artists, taken his music on the road and overseas, had his music used as the accompaniment to various TV shows and feature films over the years and he has stayed on the CD player of a select, tuned-in crowd over the years. He continues to write and record music in his little red shed and is working on a number of projects, with a new album release of his songs firmly in his sights.
