Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Tamas Wells moved to the city of Yangon in Burma in early 2006 and with just a guitar, a traditional Burmese banjo and the occasional subtle use of strings, began recording songs for a new album. Recorded at home in Yangon between power cuts, monsoon rains and the shouts of street salesmen ‘Valder Fields’ combines Wells’ sublime sense of melody with a beautifully fragile instrumentation and production.
