"We thought it was high-time that somebody wrote a song about how love – while being a many-splendid thing – can also get you twisted. Coming off the back of our critically-tolerated debut album King Me, we knew we were the likely lads for the job. We asked our trusted friend Rob Cranny to tape what it sounded like when we played the song, and to mix the individual tracks until they were pleasing to the ears, and then went across to eat a (late) pub lunch, and talk about how we were now one of those bands with non-album singles, like The Smiths and The Beatles."
