“The song was inspired by a friend of the band who paints over any advertising he sees with blue paint, as a political statement against visual propaganda and psychological abuse (and blue is a pretty colour). He's been arrested heaps of times without changing his beliefs or actions, and apparently his case is soon to be heard in the High Court. No one's holding their breath, but he's not going to stop. He'll just keep getting arrested, and keep changing these ugly adds to a simple, mellow blue. Probably shouldn't mention his name here for the very reason he inspired the song.” Van Walker
