Adrian Whitehead: Spector's Dead

from The Melbourne Divide by Popboomerang

/

about

Adrian combines his love of catchy melody and clever lyrics to create songs with a warmth and honesty rarely heard outside the 60’s. Channeling the likes of Lennon-McCartney, Brian Wilson, Harry Nilsson and Elliot Smith he pays homage to great songwriting legends while honing a unique sound that reflects his years of multi-flavoured musical experiences.

Joined on stage by members of renowned Melbourne outfit Moreland City Soul Revue, Adrian will recreate the infectious hooks and harmonic detours of his first record, One Small Stepping Man, and offer a live taste of his soon-to-be-released second album.

“Whitehead has shown his utter mastery of 60s and 70s-influenced pop forms that all of us in the power pop community enjoy”
Absolute Powerpop

“Brilliantly written songs and perfectly catchy summer melodies fill the air wherever this is played and I am as giddy as a schoolgirl whenever I hear it”
